These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of our website, digital products, online classes, memberships, and all services offered by Our Sound Playground.

By using our website or enrolling in any program, you agree to these Terms.
If you do not agree, please discontinue use immediately.

1. OVERVIEW OF SERVICES

Our Sound Playground provides:

A) Online Group Programs (Our Sound Playground branch)

  • Group piano classes

  • Themed labs & performance lounges (seasonal)
    Audience: primarily Ontario homeschool families ages 7–11
     

B) Ear Training Club (Separate Branch)

  • RCM Levels 5–8 exam-prep membership

  • Mock exams

  • Office hours (daytime & evening)

  • Digital tools, drills, and games
    Audience: Canada-wide (tweens, teens, young adults, adults)
     

C) Digital Products

  • Audio libraries

  • Boom Cards

  • Spreadsheets

  • Apps

  • Practice tools

  • Downloadable guides
     

D) Free Resources

  • Demo lessons

  • Holiday mini-classes

  • Webinars

  • Lead magnets
     

You must be 18 years or older to enroll OR have a parent/legal guardian complete enrollment for a child.

 

2. PAYMENT TERMS

By purchasing or enrolling, you authorize:

  • The full payment upon checkout

  • Recurring payments (if applicable)

  • Your payment method to be charged automatically
     

All prices are listed in Canadian dollars (CAD) unless otherwise stated.

We use secure third-party payment processors (e.g., Stripe, PayPal).


We do not store credit card information.

 

3. REFUND POLICY

A) GROUP PROGRAMS (Our Sound Playground)

Refund eligibility:

Refunds may be requested at least 72 hours before the first class of the session.

After this window:

  • No refunds

  • No credits

  • No partial refunds for missed classes
     

Cancellations by Parent:

If you choose to withdraw after the program begins:

  • No refund

  • No credits

  • Your spot cannot be transferred
     

Teacher Cancellations:

The studio calendar includes 3 built-in teacher rest days per term.
If more cancellations occur:

  • A make-up class, Open Studio, or asynchronous lesson will be provided.
     

Asynchronous lessons count as a full instructional day.

 

B) EAR TRAINING CLUB (RCM Levels 5–8)

7-Day No-Questions-Asked Refund

New members are eligible for a full refund within 7 days of purchase.

After 7 days:

  • No refunds

  • You may cancel anytime to stop next month’s billing
     

If a refund is issued:

  • Access to all digital materials, spreadsheets, apps, and Google Drive files will be revoked

  • Membership login will be disabled

C) DIGITAL PRODUCTS

Due to the digital nature of:

  • downloads

  • apps

  • Boom Cards

  • spreadsheets

  • audio libraries

  • templates

  • pre-recorded materials
     

All digital product sales are final.


No refunds or exchanges.

 

4. CANCELLATION POLICY

A) Teacher Cancellations (Group Programs)

We build 3 rest days into each session.
If a class is cancelled:

  • We may provide an asynchronous lesson, OR

  • Reschedule, OR

  • Offer a bonus Open Studio
     

This counts as fulfilling the class obligation.

B) Parent-Requested Cancellations

  • There are no refunds after the 72-hour-before-start window.

  • Missing classes does not grant make-ups or credits.

  • Your tuition reserves your child’s spot, regardless of attendance.
     

C) Ear Training Club

You may cancel your membership at any time through your account settings.
Cancellations apply to future billing cycles only.

 

5. ACCESS TO DIGITAL MATERIALS

Upon purchase or enrollment, you may receive:

  • login credentials

  • Google Drive links

  • app access

  • downloadable materials

  • Boom Card links

  • PDF guides

  • spreadsheets

  • audio files
     

These materials are for personal use only and may not be:

  • shared

  • re-sold

  • copied

  • distributed

  • uploaded publicly

  • used in group classes (unless you are given written permission)
     

Access may be revoked:

  • upon refund

  • for policy violations

  • for misuse, sharing, or piracy
     

 

6. USER CONDUCT

You agree not to:

  • share login information

  • duplicate or distribute digital products

  • violate copyright or intellectual property

  • disrupt sessions

  • harass instructors or students

  • use materials commercially without permission
     

Violations may result in removal without refund.

 

7. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

All content, including:

  • videos

  • worksheets

  • spreadsheets

  • audio files

  • apps

  • training materials

  • branding elements

  • designs

  • website content
     

…is the intellectual property of Our Sound Playground or its licensors.

You receive a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use materials for your own learning.

 

8. TECHNOLOGY REQUIREMENTS

To participate in online classes or memberships, you must have:

  • stable internet connection

  • a working device with camera/microphone

  • updated Zoom or equivalent software

  • parental supervision if required
     

We are not responsible for:

  • tech issues on your end

  • missed classes due to tech failure

  • outdated devices

  • unstable internet
     

 

9. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • We are not liable for damages arising from use of our website, classes, programs, or digital materials

  • We make no guarantees of exam scores or results

  • Parents are responsible for monitoring their child during lessons
     

Your use of our services is voluntary and at your own risk.

 

10. TESTIMONIALS & MARKETING

By participating in our programs, you grant us permission to use:

  • testimonials

  • written feedback

  • anonymized case studies
     

We will always request permission before using photos or videos of children.

 

11. THIRD-PARTY LINKS

Our website may contain links to third-party websites.
We are not responsible for:

  • the content

  • privacy policies

  • practices of third-party sites
     

Use them at your own discretion.

 

12. TERMINATION OF SERVICE

We reserve the right to:

  • remove a student or parent for misconduct

  • suspend membership for policy violations

  • revoke access to digital products upon misuse
     

No refunds will be issued in such cases.

 

13. GOVERNING LAW

These Terms are governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada.

 

14. CHANGES TO TERMS

We may update these Terms at any time.
Changes become effective upon posting to this page.

Continued use of our website or services indicates acceptance of updated Terms.
